Blazers re-sign Outlaw

07.18.2007

Portland, OR (Basketball News) - The Portland Trail Blazers re-signed forward Travis Outlaw to a three-year contract on Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 22-year-old Outlaw was originally selected by the Trail Blazers with the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2003 NBA Draft. In 67 games last season, Outlaw averaged a career-best 9.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. He had a team-high 74 blocked shots.

"Travis enjoyed what we feel was a breakout season last year on both ends of the floor," said Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard. "His athleticism and high-flying style of play add another level of excitement to the team and we are thrilled to have him back."

The four-year pro from Starkville High School (Miss.) holds career averages of 6.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in 203 games with the Trail Blazers.
