Boozer, Okur and Williams continue to shine for Jazz

(Basketball News) - All-Stars Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur and point guard Deron Williams are all having career years for Utah. Boozer leads the Jazz in scoring (21.1 ppg) and rebounding (11.9 rpg), while Williams, who is third on the team in scoring (16.8 ppg), has dished out a team-best 9.5 assists per game.

Okur is second on the club in scoring (17.8 ppg) and rebounding (7.4 rpg). The former Detroit Piston has collected 20 double-doubles this season, and has scored in double-digits in 63 of the 72 games he has played.

The Jazz (48-26) have clinched the Northwest Division, but are battling for homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Utah, which is going back to the postseason after a three-year drought, is the fourth seed in the Western Conference and is just 1 1/2 games ahead of the fifth-seeded Houston Rockets.

Utah tries to get back on the winning track when it visits the struggling Sacramento Kings on Friday at ARCO Arena. The Jazz and Kings have split two contests this season. This is the final meeting of the campaign between the clubs.

The Jazz have lost five of their last seven at Sacramento.

Utah wraps up a four-game road trip against Sacramento. It is 1-2 on the swing. On Wednesday, rookie Brandon Roy scored a career-high 29 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 94-89 victory over the Jazz at the Rose Garden.

Boozer scored 21 points and tied his career-high with 21 rebounds for Utah, which has still won four of its last six games overall. Williams finished with 14 points and 13 assists for the Jazz.

The Jazz are 19-19 on the road this season. They will visit the Seattle SuperSonics on Saturday at KeyArena.

Utah is scheduled to play five of its final eight regular-season games at home. The Jazz will host, Seattle, Denver, Phoenix, Portland and Houston. They will visit Sacramento, Golden State and Dallas.
