Bulls start homestand vs. Kings

(Basketball News) - The Chicago Bulls begin a four-game homestand when they host the Sacramento Kings tonight at the United Center.

This is the second and final meeting of the season between the clubs. On February 9th, Kevin Martin scored 23 points and Mike Bibby added 20 in Sacramento’s 98-80 convincing win over the Bulls at ARCO Arena.

Sacramento has won 12 of the last 13 meetings in this series. The Kings have won six of their last 10 at Chicago.

Chicago starts the stand off a solid win. Jannero Pargo and Kirk Hinrich each scored 17 points to lead the Bulls to a 97-91 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday at the Staples Center.

Hinrich also dished out six assists and Luol Deng contributed 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the win over the Clippers for the Bulls, who have won two of their last three games overall. Darius Songaila netted 12 in the victory.

The Bulls are 10-13 as the host this season. They have won two in a row at the United Center.

Chicago will play Philadelphia on Thursday at the United Center in its final contest before the All-Star break. The Bulls will also host Milwaukee and Detroit on the current stand.

Sacramento plays the first of a two-game road trip. On Sunday, Ron Artest and Martin each poured in 20 points to lead seven players in double figures as the Kings routed the Atlanta Hawks, 109-84, at Arco Arena.

Artest added six assists and six steals and Kenny Thomas had 17 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Atlanta for the Kings, who have won four of their last five games overall. Brad Miller scored 15 points and grabbed nine boards and Bibby contributed 13 points and four assists in the victory.

The Kings, who will visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday at the FedExForum in their final game before the break, are 6-17 as the visitor this season.
