Earlier this season, the Heat knocked off the Clippers, 87-85, on January 16, 2004 at the Staples Center.
On Wednesday, the Heat had their three-game winning streak stopped with a 94-93 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers at Gund Arena. Eddie Jones scored 16 points for Miami, while Lamar Odom and Dwyane Wade both finished with 15 points for Miami.
Wade was activated from the injured list prior to the Cleveland game. He had missed 13 games with a sprained right wrist.
The Heat, who have won two straight as the host, are a respectable 13-7 at home this season.
The Clippers start a season-high nine game road trip tonight. On Tuesday, Corey Maggette scored a game-high 28 points and Elton Brand netted 20 with 11 rebounds to lead LA to a 102-92 victory over the Chicago Bulls at the Staples Center.
Quentin Richardson added 18 points and seven boards, while Marko Jaric contributed 14 points and 10 assists for Los Angeles, which won for just the third time in eight games.
LA’s Chris Wilcox came off the bench to score 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting in Tuesday’s win.
The Clippers are just 4-13 on the road this season.
The Heat have won 10 of 14 and 12 of the last 17 meetings with the Clippers, who have won two straight at Miami.
