Clippers to be put to the test

(Basketball News) - The Los Angeles Clippers went into the All-Star break on a three-game losing streak. They return to the court on Tuesday, as they will visit the Dallas Mavericks.

The Clippers (30-21) are 4 1/2 games behind the first place Phoenix Suns in the Pacific Division. They are scheduled to host 15 are their final 31 games this season.

Dallas and the Clippers will meet for the second this season. On January 20th, Nowitzki poured in a game-high 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, as the Mavericks cruised past the Clippers, 101-81, at the Staples Center. These teams have split the last eight contests in this series. The Clippers have lost two straight and five of their last six at Dallas.

Los Angeles plays the middle contest of a three-game road trip against Dallas. On February 15th, Derek Fisher poured in 21 points and dished off nine assists to lead the Golden State Warriors over the Clippers, 88-81, at The Arena in Oakland.

All-Star Elton Brand recorded a double-double with 15 points and 15 boards in the loss to Golden State for the Clippers, who have dropped four of their last five games overall. Sam Cassell finished with 16 points and seven boards, while Vladimir Radmanovic had 14 points and eight rebounds in his debut with the Clippers.

LA is 13-12 as the visitor this season. The Clippers, who have lost two in a row away from home, are scheduled to visit Tracy McGrady and the Houston Rockets on Wednesday at the Toyota Center.

Brand leads the Clippers in scoring (25.4 ppg) and rebounding (10.3 rpg), while Cassell is averaging a team-high 6.5 assists per game.

The Clippers have not reached the century mark in their last six outings. They are 16-7 when they score at least 100 points this season.
