Doleac headed for South Beach

07.13.2004

Miami, FL (Basketball News) - The Miami Heat and center Michael Doleac have reportedly agreed on a four-year contract worth about $12 million.

According to The South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the New Orleans Hornets were also interested in Doleac. The Utah product split last season with the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks, averaging 2.0 points and 1.4 rebounds over a total of 82 games.

Doleac, a former first-round pick (12th overall) of the Orlando Magic in 1998, played in 26 games for the Nuggets before being dealt to the Big Apple. He was also sent to Atlanta in the deal but never played for the Hawks.
