Duncan, who injured the ankle in practice on Monday, had already been listed as questionable after hyperextending his left knee in Thursday’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
"It actually feels pretty good," said Duncan. "I hope I can be back on the court soon."
Duncan, a two-time league MVP, leads the Spurs in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 21.3 points per game and 11.8 boards per outing.
San Antonio, which is in the midst of a seven-game road trip, hopes to have its star back in the lineup at some point during the trip.
"It really depends on how it reacts (to treatment)," said Duncan. "It’s not as serious as I first thought so that’s good."
In other roster news, San Antonio activated center Rasho Nesterovic from the injured list. He had missed the last six games due to a left ankle sprain.
Meanwhile, the team announced that guard Mike Wilks has been placed on the injured list with left patella tendinitis. Wilks is averaging 1.2 points in 30 games this season
