Jazz try to stay in tune vs. Sonics

03.5.2006

(Basketball News) - The Utah Jazz try to win their second straight game tonight when they visit the Seattle SuperSonics at KeyArena.

On Friday, rookie Deron Williams connected on a jumper with 2.4 seconds left in the game to lift the Jazz over the Los Angeles Clippers, 105-103, at the Delta Center. Williams finished with 10 points, seven assists and five rebounds for the Jazz, who have won two of their last three games and halted a three-game home losing streak.

Mehmet Okur paced Utah with 29 points on 11-of-16 shooting, including 3-of-4 from three-point range in the win over the Clippers. Devin Brown ended with 16 points off the bench and Carlos Boozer registered 11 points and 10 boards in the victory.

The Jazz are just 14-15 on the road this season. They have won two in a row as the visitor.

Seattle attempts to rebound from a tough loss, as it plays the third of a five-game homestand. On Friday, Richard Hamilton netted 20 points, including the game-winning jumper with 0.2 seconds left, as the Pistons Detroit edged the SuperSonics, 98-96, at KeyArena.

Ray Allen posted 31 points and nine rebounds in the loss to the Pistons for Seattle, which has lost three of its last four games overall. Rashard Lewis scored 20 points, while Luke Ridnour netted 16 and Chris Wilcox posted 14 points in defeat.

The Sonics, who are 1-1 on the current stand, are 13-15 at home this season. They are scheduled to host Memphis and Minnesota in the final two games of the homestand.

This is the fourth and final meeting of the season between the clubs. In the three previous contests, Seattle won a pair of games at Utah, while the Jazz defeated the Sonics, 93-87, on November 22nd at KeyArena.

Utah has lost six of its last eight at Seattle.
