Kings put two winning streaks on the line

11.30.2003

Sacramento, CA (Basketball News) - The scorching Sacramento Kings put their seven-game winning streak on the line tonight when they welcome Jason Kidd and the New Jersey Nets to ARCO Arena.

Brad Miller scored 29 points to lead Sacramento to a 103-74 win over the Houston Rockets on Friday in front of its home crowd.

Mike Bibby and Bobby Jackson both finished with 18 points for the Kings, who won seven straight for the first time since winning 11 straight between March 26 - April 12, 2002.

Peja Stojakovic added 11 points for Sacramento, which has won 16 straight at home.

Sacramento forward Gerald Wallace is questionable for tonight’s contest with a sore knee.

The Kings are a perfect 9-0 at home this season.

New Jersey lost Friday to the Portland Trail Blazers, 97-93, at the Rose Garden.

Jason Kidd tallied 27 points and seven helpers for the Nets, who are on a five-game road trip.

The Nets are 2-1 on the current swing.

New Jersey will finish up its road trip on Monday against Matt Harpring and the Utah Jazz.

The Nets own a 5-3 record on the road this season.

In 2002-03, Sacramento won both contests with the Nets. The Kings took a home a 118-82 win at New Jersey on January 9, 2003 and then defeated the Nets, 109-102, 12 days later at ARCO.

Overall, Sacramento has won two in a row and five of the last six meetings with the Nets.

The Nets have lost four straight and six of their last seven at Sacramento.
