12.13.2005

(Basketball News) - The Sacramento Kings attempt to win their third straight game tonight, as they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.

This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On December 4th, Wally Szczerbiak scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Minnesota past Sacramento, 85-77, at ARCO Arena.

The Timberwolves have won seven of eight and eight of the last 11 meetings in this series. Sacramento has lost four of six and 12 of its last 15 at Minnesota.

Sacramento opens a four-game road trip this evening. On Sunday, Peja Stojakovic, Bonzi Wells, and Shareef Abdur-Rahim each scored 23 points, as the Kings knocked off the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, 110-100, at ARCO Arena.

Mike Bibby finished with 17 points and six assists in the win over the Hornets for the Kings, won their second straight after a five-game skid. Brad Miller contributed 10 points and 10 assists, and also grabbed eight rebounds in the victory.

The Kings, who will also visit Detroit, San Antonio and Charlotte on the current road trip, are 2-5 as the visitor this season.

Minnesota comes into tonight’s game off a tough loss. On Monday, Chris Webber scored 27 points, including the game-winning basket in overtime, and also grabbed a season-high 21 rebounds as the 76ers defeated the Timberwolves, 90-89, at the Wachovia Center.

Wally Szczerbiak led Minnesota with 23 points and Kevin Garnett added 19 points and seven boards in the loss to Philadelphia. Marko Jaric scored 14 points, while Michael Olowokandi finished with eight points and 10 boards for the Timberwolves, who had a five-game winning streak snapped.
