New York has lost six of its last seven games, including Monday’s 102-96 setback against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Nate Robinson had 19 points and Jamal Crawford scored 18 in the loss.
The Knicks went 1-3 against Washington last season, but have won nine of the last 13 meetings in the series.
Washington, which has lost six of its last seven at Madison Square Garden, had a two-game winning streak come to an end with Sunday’s 105-93 overtime loss against the New Jersey Nets.
Vince Carter hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer to send the game into overtime and ended with a game-high 34 points. Gilbert Arenas scored 25 points for Washington, but finished just 6-for-23 from the floor.
New York will be in search of its first home win of the season (0-3), while the Wizards are 0-2 so far as the guest in 2006-07.
