Los Angeles Clippers Team Report - December 18 12.18.2004
|
(Basketball News) - The Clippers’ downward spiral continued on Friday night, as they dropped a 113-86 decision to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.
Elton Brand scored 17 points with seven rebounds to lead LA, which has dropped four straight. Corey Maggette contributed 15 points in the loss.
The Clippers played teams tight in their previous three losses, which included a pair of two-point setbacks and a double-overtime loss to Boston.
But the Timberwolves put an end to that in the second half of this one, opening the third quarter with a 15-6 run to extend their 47-39 halftime lead to 62-45. The Clippers hardly challenged down the stretch.
The Timberwolves have won nine straight against the Clippers.
Clippers guard Kerry Kittles sat out the second half with a strained lower back. Kittles has been hampered by injuries all season long.
Los Angeles has a day off before returning to the court against Memphis at the Staples Center on Sunday.
