Los Angeles Clippers Team Report - December 2

(Basketball News) - Corey Maggette scored 24 points and rookie Chris Kaman added a career-high 15 to go along with 12 rebounds, as the Los Angeles Clippers beat San Antonio, 91-83, Monday at the Staples Center.

Marko Jaric contributed 13 points for the Clippers, who snapped a six-game skid.

The contest was tied at 18-18 after the opening quarter and San Antonio led, 22-20 early in the second frame. Los Angeles then closed the second quarter with a 26-10 run to take control of the contest.

A field goal by Maggette early in the third quarter put the Clippers ahead by 16 at 50-34, and LA would take a 62-51 advantage into the final quarter.

Malik Rose completed a three-point play with 1:08 remaining to pull the Spurs within, 85-79, but Maggette and Doug Overton each hit three free throws in the final minute to put the game away.

The Clippers are off until Wednesday when they host rookie phenom LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
