(Basketball News) - A pair of teams looking to get back on the winning track take the court tonight tonight, when the Memphis Grizzlies battle the Los Angeles Clippers at the FedExForum.
The Clippers have dropped seven of their last eight games, including a disappointing 96-79 defeat to the Houston Rockets on Friday night. Corey Maggette led the way for the Clippers with 23 points. Chris Wilcox and Elton Brand each chipped in with 11 points for Los Angeles.
Los Angeles hit 41.3 percent from the field, including just 1-of-6 from three- point range. The Clippers managed just 16-of-26 (.615) from the charity stripe.
Guard Marko Jaric was held out of the starting lineup for the second straight game with a right foot sprain. Jaric is questionable for this evening’s contest.
Los Angeles has dropped eight in a row to Houston and has not defeated it since Dec. 14, 2002.
The Clippers, which are in the final contest of a two-game road trip, are 4-6 in foreign buildings this season.
Memphis won the first meeting between these teams this season, 92-82, on Dec. 19. The Grizzlies have won six straight, eight of 12, 12 of the last 19 meetings in this series, including four in a row at home.
