(Basketball News) - The Los Angeles Clippers dropped their third game in four tries on Sunday and found themselves on the wrong end of a 100-88 decision against the Detroit Pistons at the Staples Center.
Elton Brand collected 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Clippers, who have dropped eight of their last 11. Quentin Richardson added 22 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort.
After leading by as many as 12 points, the Clippers led by only two within the first minute of the fourth quarter, However, Detroit proceeded to go on a 22-6 run and it never looked back.
The loss was the Clippers first at home to Detroit since March 25, 2000.
Los Angeles, which closed a two-game homestand on Sunday, lost for the first time in its last six home and slipped to 17-12 as the host this season.
The Clippers will return to action on Tuesday when they battle the Sacramento Kings at ARCO Arena. LA has already lost three times this season to the Kings and could be at a disadvantage on Tuesday, as the home team in this series has won 10 of the last 14 meetings. The Clippers have also dropped 15 of their last 16 in Sacramento.
Los Angeles, which is 3-6 in games played on Tuesdays this season, has lost seven of its last eight games on the road and is 8-21 away from home this season.
