Twardzik and Smith will be responsible for overseeing basketball operations, including player acquisitions via the draft, free agency and trades, player development, scouting and salary cap management.

"They bring a wide range of experience, great energy, dedication, leadership and vision to our basketball operations. I’m confident this is the right structure for us today."

Twardzik was the Magic’s director of player personnel, while Smith was the team’s director of player development since September 2003.
