Malone suspended for game against Jazz

New York, NY (Basketball News) - Los Angeles Lakers forward Karl Malone will miss the first chance to play his former team, as the NBA suspended him one game for elbowing Dallas point guard Steve Nash in the head.

The incident took place with 9:41 remaining in the third quarter of the Lakers’ 114-103 win over the Mavericks Thursday.

Malone will be forced to watch when his new mates host his former team, the Utah Jazz, at the Staples Center on Sunday.
