Marbury leads Knicks past Sonics

Seattle, WA (Basketball News) - Stephon Marbury poured in 28 points and Eddie Curry scored 27 points and pulled down six rebounds as New York dominated Seattle, 111-93, at KeyArena.

Jamal Crawford posted 22 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists for the Knicks, who have won two straight after dropping three in a row. David Lee added eight points with 10 boards off the bench in the win.

New York shot 51 percent from the field.

Chris Wilcox netted 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting with six rebounds for the SuperSonics, who have lost three consecutive games and five of their last six.

Damien Wilkins had 12 points while Earl Watson recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 helpers in defeat.

New York went on a 17-6 burst in the first quarter — led by Curry’s 13 points — en route to a 36-21 advantage.

Mickael Gelabale’s jumper cut Seattle’s deficit to seven early in the second, but Marbury capped the frame with a three-pointer to put the Knicks up 68-51 at halftime.

The Knicks held a 20-point lead for most of the third and outscored the SuperSonics, 25-19, for a 93-70 margin entering the fourth, where they cruised to victory and were never threatened by Seattle.

The SuperSonics finished 43 percent shooting.

Game Notes

Ray Allen scored 11 points for Seattle...Channing Frye added nine points and five rebounds for the Knicks...New York’s Nate Robinson served the final game of a 10-game suspension for his involvement in the brawl with Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets last December 16th at Madison Square Garden.
