Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, however, according to the Dallas Morning News, George agreed to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million.
The 29-year-old averaged 6.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in 60 games last season for a Dallas team that dominated in the regular season but was stunned by Golden State in the opening round of the playoffs.
George originally opted out of the final year on his existing two-year deal last month to become an unrestricted free agent, but returns to the fold looking to rebound from a rocky second half of the year which saw him slowed by a knee injury.
The 23rd overall pick of the Lakers in the 1999 NBA draft, George won three titles in seven campaigns with Los Angeles before coming to Dallas prior to the start of the 2006-2007 season.
