East Rutherford, NJ (Basketball News) - New Jersey Nets guard Jason Kidd underwent an MRI Wednesday on his ailing left knee. The results, however, are being analyzed.
According to the team, there would be no official word on Kidd until the results were revealed. The All-Star had been hampered all season and the playoffs with the injury.
Kidd, arguably the best all-around player in the NBA, averaged 15.5 points, 9.2 assists and 6.4 rebounds in 67 regular-season games. He posted 12.6 points, 9.0 assists and 6.6 boards in 11 playoff contests.
The Nets were ousted in seven games by the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. Detroit then needed six games to beat Indiana in the conference finals and will face the Los Angeles Lakers for the NBA title.
