"We are very fortunate to be able to add a proven shooter like Wesley to our team," said Denver general manager Kiki Vandeweghe. "We believe he will be a great addition."
Person, an 11-year veteran, played in 16 games for the Miami Heat this year and averaged 3.9 points-per-game in 12.9 minutes-per-contest before being waived on March 1.
The 33-year-old has averaged 11.3 ppg in 708 career games with Phoenix (1994-97), Cleveland (’97-02), Memphis (’02-04), Portland (’03-04), Atlanta (’03-04) and Miami (’04-05). His best season came during the 2001-02 campaign with the Cavaliers, as he averaged 15.1 ppg, while shooting a career-high 44- percent from three-point range.
Person also led the NBA in three-pointers made during the 1997-98 season with 192.
In a related move, the Nuggets placed guard Luis Flores on the injured list with a strained right hamstring.
