Shaq out 4-6 weeks with knee injury

Miami, FL (Basketball News) - Miami center Shaquille O’Neal was out for the Heat’s game against New York on Friday with torn articular cartilage in his left knee.

Surgery is pending and he will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks.

O’Neal sat out two games earlier in the season with a bruised knee, which he reinjured after a collision with Houston’s Chuck Hayes in Sunday’s 94-72 loss.

Miami guard Jason Williams was active Friday for the first time this season, after having undergone arthroscopic knee surgery on July 21st.
