Sixers continue road trip in Utah

This is the first of two meetings this season between the clubs. The 76ers are scheduled to host the Jazz on January 11, 2006 at the Wachovia Center.

Philadelphia is 1-2 on its current road trip. On Wednesday, Zach Randolph dominated the paint with 28 points and 14 rebounds, as the Portland Trail Blazers edged the 76ers, 95-91, at the Rose Garden. All-Star Allen Iverson dropped in 28 points despite a sprained right ankle to lead Philadelphia.

Kyle Korver netted 24 on 5-of-7 three-point shooting in the loss to Portland for the Sixers, who have lost three of their last six games overall. Andre Iguodala scored 12 points, while Chris Webber managed a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.

Iverson is probable for tonight’s game with the ankle injury. He is averaging a league-leading 34.1 points and a team-best 7.3 assists per game.

The 76ers are just 5-9 as the visitor this season. They are 3-2 in their last five on the road. Philadelphia still has to play Sacramento, Phoenix and the Lakers.

Utah enters tonight’s game on a two-game winning streak. On Tuesday, Mehmet Okur scored 20 points and tied a season-high with 17 rebounds, as the Jazz knocked off the Houston Rockets, 82-74, at the Toyota Center.

Jarron Collins tied a season-high with 15 points, while Andrei Kirilenko and Keith McLeod each netted 10 in the win over the 76ers for Utah, which has split its last 10 games overall.

The Jazz are 6-8 at the Delta Center this season. They have won three in a row as the visitor.

Utah has won eight of the last 11 meetings in this series. Philadelphia, which defeated the Jazz, 106-99, during the 2004-05 campaign at the Delta Center, has lost 14 of its last 16 as the visitor against the Jazz.
