Sixers’ Randolph to undergo surgery

11.30.2006

Philadelphia, PA (Basketball News) - Philadelphia 76ers forward Shavlik Randolph fractured and dislocated his left ankle during practice on Thursday and will undergo surgery at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center this evening.

The injury occurred when the forward’s foot landed on that of teammate Andre Iguodala’s.

It is unclear how much time Randolph will miss.

"It’s unfortunate Shav got hurt today," said 76ers president Billy King. "He will be missed as he is an integral part of this team, but I am confident that the rest of the guys will step up in his absence."

Randolph has averaged 4.5 points and 13.8 minutes in 13 games this season.
