Sonics square off with Rockets in Houston

(Basketball News) - The Houston Rockets try to extend their winning streak to four games , as they welcome the Seattle SuperSonics tonight to the Toyota Center.

This is the first meeting of the season between the clubs this season. Seattle has lost three straight after winning its last three at Houston.

Houston plays the third of a four-game homestand this evening. Tracy McGrady posted a season-high 38 points and nine rebounds, as the Rockets knocked off the Memphis Grizzlies, 111-109, at the Toyota Center.

Juwan Howard posted 22 points and seven rebounds in the win for the Rockets, who won their third straight contest. Luther Head finished with 18 points and Rafer Alston contributed 11 points and six assists in the victory.

The Rockets are an impressive 10-3 at home this season. They are scheduled to host Carlos Boozer and the Utah Jazz on Friday.

Seattle attempts to get back on the winning track as it wraps up a short two- game road trip. On Tuesday, Dirk Nowitzki posted 31 points and a season-high 15 rebounds as the red-hot Dallas Mavericks made it 11 straight wins with a 112-88 victory over the SuperSonics at American Airlines Center.

Ray Allen finished with 27 points in the loss for the SuperSonics, who have dropped three of their last four games overall. Earl Watson scored 15 points in defeat.

The SuperSonics are just 4-13 on the road this season. They return home to host the New York Knicks on Friday at KeyArena.
