Spurs go for ninth straight win against Clippers 03.5.2007

San Antonio plays the second of a four-game road trip. Tim Duncan scored 26 points on 10-of-14 from the floor, as the Spurs picked up a 97-74 win against the division-rival Houston Rockets on Saturday at the Toyota Center.
Michael Finley scored 14 points for San Antonio, which has won four in a row on the road and is 21-10 as the visitor this season. Francisco Elson netted 13 and grabbed eight rebounds, while Beno Udrih added 12 points for the Spurs, who will also visit the Trail Blazers and Kings on the current road swing.
The Spurs defeated the Rockets without All-Star guard Tony Parker, who was scratched from the lineup with a left hip flexor. Parker is expected to miss tonight’s contest.
LA tries to make it back-to-back wins tonight. Corey Maggette scored 20 points to lift the Clippers over the Indiana Pacers, 87-64, at the Staples Center.
Elton Brand finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Chris Kaman had 16 points and seven rebounds in the win over Indiana for the Clippers, who have won four of their last five games overall.
The Clippers are 21-10 as the host this season. They will visit the Golden State Warriors on Friday at ORACLE Arena.
This is the third of four meetings between the squads this season. The Spurs won the two previous contests and will host the Clipper on March 13th at the AT&T Center.
San Antonio has won two straight and five of its last six games overall at the Clippers. The Spurs have won three in a row in the series.
