Suns try to crown Kings for 14th straight win 12.16.2006

Phoenix is aiming for its longest winning streak since ripping off a franchise-best 14 consecutive wins from December 1 - 30, 1992. Charles Barkley and the Suns reached the NBA Finals that year, but lost to Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls in six games.
On Friday night the Suns kept the streak alive with a 105-101 victory over the Golden State Warriors at US Airways Center. Boris Diaw notched his fifth career triple-double with 21 points, a career-high 14 rebounds and 10 assists to lead Phoenix.
Amare Stoudemire had 25 points and 10 boards, while Shawn Marion added 14 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in the win. Steve Nash chipped in 16 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Pacific Division-leading Suns.
Meanwhile, the Kings have won two of their last three games and defeated Utah, 98-97, on Friday night at EnergySolutions Arena.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim sank the game-winning three-pointer with 59 seconds left in the fourth quarter to lift Sacramento. Abdur-Rahim finished with 21 points off the bench with eight rebounds, while Mike Bibby scored 19 points and also grabbed eight boards.
Ron Artest posted 11 points, Kevin Martin had 13 and Brad Miller contributed 10 points for the Kings, who will host Phoenix, Dallas and Washington. Sacramento is 7-4 at ARCO Arena this season.
The Suns posted a 127-102 win over the Kings on December 5 this season at US Airways Center. Phoenix has won three straight and five of the last eight meetings.
Phoenix has lost 10 of 12 and 11 of its last 15 trips to Sacramento.
