Suns, Warriors battle at America West Arena 11.12.2005

The Suns’ latest setback came on Thursday, as they found themselves on the losing end of a 111-104 decision to the Detroit Pistons. Leandro Barbosa had 21 points off the bench to lead Phoenix, which is 2-3 after five games.
Steve Nash added 18 points and eight assists for Phoenix, which lost to the Pistons for the sixth time in eight meetings.
Phoenix went ahead by six points, 100-94, on a Kurt Thomas bucket with 4:57 left in the game. However, Detroit closed the game with a 17-4 run to snatch the lead down the stretch.
The Suns, who will also host Memphis and Utah on this homestand, are winless in three games in their arena this season.
Golden State comes into tonight’s contest after Adonal Foyle scored the go- ahead layup with 50.7 seconds remaining to lift the Warriors to an 86-84 victory over the still-winless New York Knicks at The Arena.
Jason Richardson netted 19 of his game-high 24 points in the second half while Troy Murphy had 19 along with 11 rebounds to help the Warriors earn their second close decision over the Knicks in less than a week.
Baron Davis added 12 points and 12 assists for Golden State, which eeked out an 83-81 win in Madison Square Garden on Sunday.
The Warriors, who will start a two-game homestand after tonight’s game, is 2-1 away from home this season.
Phoenix split its four matchups with the Warriors last season, but have won five of nine and six of the last 11 meetings. Golden State has also dropped six of eight and 17 of 20 in Phoenix.
