"Rashad demonstrated late last season that he has the ability to score at this level, and has a tremendous future in this league," said Minnesota vice president of basketball operations Kevin McHale. "We believe he will fully recover from his injury and become a valuable member of the Timberwolves for years to come."
McCants underwent microfracture surgery on his right knee on June 19, following a season in which he averaged 7.9 points per game on 45 percent shooting. The North Carolina product set a Timberwolves franchise record for three-point field goal percentage at 37.2 percent.
