Timberwolves best Sonics to end home slide

Kevin Garnett added 23 points and 15 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who ended a four-game losing streak.

Trenton Hassell donated 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor and Minnesota shot 44.7 percent from the field overall.

"I like our group," said Minnesota head coach Dwane Casey. "The positive energy, the speed and quickness. We’ve got to continue to work and get better."

Ray Allen hit 10-of-19 from the floor for 23 points for Seattle, which dropped its third consecutive game and seventh of its last eight overall.

Robert Swift had 14 points and seven rebounds, while the newly-acquired Chris Wilcox had nine points off the bench in the loss.

On Tuesday the SuperSonics swapped forward Vladimir Radmanovic to the Los Angeles Clippers for Wilcox.

Leading 80-73 after the third quarter, Minnesota opened the final frame with a mini 6-2 run to take an 11-point lead.

With 7:13 remaining, Hassell lobbed a pass to Garnett inside and he finished with authority to give the T’Wolves another 11-point lead at 88-77.

Minnesota continued to lead by double-digits until Swift tipped in two points with around two minutes left to make it an eight-point game. Seattle was unable to get any closer the rest of the way, though, as Minnesota held them off.

The Timberwolves led 52-50 at halftime, with Davis netting 14 points on 5- of-12 shooting from the floor. Garnett contributed nine points with six rebounds in the first half.

The game was tied at 28-28 after the opening quarter.

The Timberwolves are 15-12 as the host this season and won for only the second time in their last eight at the Target Center...Anthony Carter and Rashad McCants each had 10 points for Minnesota...The T’Wolves were 30-of-35 from the charity stripe...The SuperSonics dropped to 8-18 on the road this season.
