Trail Blazers’ Woods suspended 10.29.2004

Woods’ suspension will begin with the first game of the 2004-05 regular season for which he is eligible to play.
The NBA, NBA teams and the NBPA are prohibited from publicly disclosing information regarding the testing or treatment of any NBA player in the program, other than to announce a player’s suspension or dismissal from the League.
Woods was suspended without pay by the Trial Blazers two weeks ago pending the club’s investigation regarding allegations by Multnomah County for dog abandonment and by Clackamas County for dog fighting.
The Trial Blazers released the following statement on Friday: "We all are disappointed that Woods continues to bring negative attention to this franchise. Our investigation of the earlier allegations continues. As we have said previously, we take all these incidents very seriously and are working towards an appropriate resolution."
Woods, who was selected No. 21 overall by Portland in the 2002 NBA Draft, has averaged 3.1 points over 115 games in his career.
Woods has previously been cited for marijuana possession and for driving with a suspended license.
