On Tuesday, Wade erupted for 38 points and Shaquille O’Neal added 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Heat past Orlando, 107-93, at AmericanAirlines Arena.
O’Neal had only seven points before fouling out at TD WaterHouse Centre, but had 11 rebounds for the Heat, who have won eight of the last 10 overall.
Antoine Walker added 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor and hit six three-pointers.
Dwight Howard had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Magic, who have now lost six in a row and 10 of their last 11. Tony Battie had 16 points and pulled down nine boards.
During the game, Orlando announced they acquired forward/center Darko Milicic and guard Carlos Arroyo from the Detroit Pistons, in exchange for forward Kelvin Cato and a future first-round pick.
The trade announcement did little to spark Orlando as Miami was in front the entire way and led by as many as 29 points in the contest.
After leading 31-22 after the opening quarter, the Heat went into halftime with a 51-45 advantage, after the Magic outscored Miami 23-20 in the second quarter.
Wade had 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the floor for Miami, while Walker added 13 points, including 3-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc at halftime.
In the third quarter, Wade went coast-to-coast and finished with a one-handed slam to give the Heat a 13-point lead at 63-50 with 5:23 to go. Miami outscored the Magic 29-14 in the third frame and took a 80-59 lead into the final quarter of action.
To open the fourth period, the Heat went on a 9-1 run, with Wade donating four points during the stretch to go up 89-60 for a commanding 29-point lead.
The Magic made it a 10-point game with around three minutes left, but it was too little, too late.
