The Warriors play the third contest of a five-game road trip when they visit the Boston Celtics on Monday at TD Banknorth Garden. Boston has won three of four and five of the last seven meetings in the series, while these two teams have split the last 12 contests overall. Golden State has dropped two in a row and three of its last four at Beantown.
It will be the first of two meetings this season between the Warriors and Celtics. Golden State is scheduled to host Boston on December 28th at The Arena in Oakland.
The Warriors are 1-1 on their current road trip. On Sunday, All-Star Vince Carter scored 25 points to lead the New Jersey Nets past Golden State, 118-90, at Continental Airlines Arena.
Troy Murphy scored 19 points in the loss to the Nets for the Warriors, while two-time All-Star Baron Davis netted 18 for the Warriors, who have dropped two of their last three contests.
Golden State, which will also visit Philadelphia and Detroit on the current swing, is 6-4 on the road this season. The Warriors defeated Toronto in the first contest of the trip.
Davis has scored in double-digits in nine straight games and has collected four double-doubles in his last five outings. The 6-3 guard has 11 double- doubles this season and is averaging 17.2 points and a team-best 9.7 assists per game.
The Warriors are 4-7 when they allow 100 or more points.
