Nene Could Return to Denver Nuggets Soon

Nuggets forward Nene had cancer, results from the biopsy on a tumor removed Jan. 14 showed, but the team said in a statement Tuesday it was ’isolated and did not spread.’ Meanwhile, star forward Carmelo Anthony walked out of the Pepsi Center on crutches Tuesday afternoon, and the Nuggets are uncertain when he will return.

The testicular tumor removed from Nene was malignant, but Nene’s personal manager, Alex Santos, remained cautiously optimistic. ’The preliminary results that we have received are very, very good,’ Santos said Tuesday via phone. ’We’re still awaiting some results, but so far, it’s been very good.’ Santos said Nene is ’feeling better,’ but there is no timetable yet for a return to the court.
