New Jersey Nets Team Report - December 7 12.7.2004

(Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets try for their third consecutive win this evening when they head to Cleveland to face LeBron James and the Cavaliers at Gund Arena.
New Jersey took two of three from the Cavs last season, but could be at a disadvantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won seven of the last eight matchups. The Nets have also dropped four of five, five of seven and nine of their last 12 in Cleveland.
On Monday night, Jason Kidd returned to the Nets lineup and Richard Jefferson scored 26 points and hit a go-ahead jumper with seven seconds left to lift New Jersey to an 88-86 win over the Toronto Raptors at Continental Airlines Arena.
Kidd made his season debut after undergoing off-season left knee surgery and scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds in 21 minutes of action. He dished out only three assists and committed six turnovers, but did make a game-tying three-pointer in the final two minutes.
Jefferson added nine rebounds and eight assists for the Nets, who have won two straight. Eric Williams added 12 points and eight rebounds as New Jersey has now captured three of four after starting the season 2-11.
The Nets, who will host former coach Byron Scott and the New Orleans Hornets on Friday, are just 1-6 away from home this season.
