This is the second of four meetings between the clubs this season. The Lakers picked up a 110-98 road victory on November 1st in Oakland.
Golden State has lost six straight at the Lakers, who have won five in a row in this series.
The Lakers, who open a three-game homestand, enter the contest on a two-game losing streak. On Saturday, David West finished with 26 points and 12 rebounds as the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets defeated the Lakers, 113-103, at the Ford Center.
Superstar Kobe Bryant had 23 points, six rebounds and seven assists in the loss to the Hornets for the Lakers, who wrapped up a three-game road trip with a 1-2 record. Maurice Evans ended with 23 points and seven rebounds, while Smush Parker netted 13 in defeat.
LA is an impressive 18-4 at home this season. The Lakers will also host Charlotte and San Antonio on the current homestand.
Golden State has also dropped two in a row. LeBron James posted 32 points and seven rebounds, as the Cleveland Cavaliers held off the Warriors, 106-104, in overtime on Saturday at ORACLE Arena.
The Warriors made a blockbuster trade Wednesday, revamping their lineup by acquiring Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington, Sarunas Jasikevicius and Josh Powell from the Indiana Pacers for Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod.
Jackson finished with 29 points and seven rebounds in the loss to Cleveland, but missed a game-winning three-point attempt at the buzzer, while Harrington posted 14 points and 12 boards. Jasikevicius scored 10 points in the Golden State debut for all three players.
Monta Ellis notched 16 points and eight assists for the Warriors, who have dropped five of their last six games overall. Matt Barnes posted 12 points and seven boards off the bench.
Two-time All-Star Baron Davis, who leads Golden State in scoring (20.9 ppg) and assists (8.6 apg), did not play against the Cavs as he was suspended one game by the league on Saturday for swinging at the Clippers’ Quinton Ross during the Warriors’ 115-109 loss. Davis is eligible to return to the court tonight.
Golden State is 4-14 on the road this season. The Warriors have lost five in a row as the visitor. They return home to host the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday and the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday.
