(Basketball News) - The New Orleans Hornets try to stay on the winning track this evening when they head to San Antonio to face the Spurs at the SBC Center.
New Orleans comes into tonight’s affair on a winning note after earning just its third win in the last 10 games on Friday. Jamaal Magloire scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, as the injury-depleted Hornets pulled out a 97-91 home win over the Denver Nuggets.
Darrell Armstrong added 18 points and nine assists for New Orleans, which was without star guard Baron Davis for the second consecutive game due to an ankle injury. He will miss tonight’s game as well.
P.J. Brown contributed 16 points and Robert Traylor added 13 off the bench, helping the Hornets snap a two-game skid.
With forward Jamal Mashburn and guard David Wesley also currently sidelined with injuries, New Orleans lacked significant firepower, but still emerged victorious.
The Hornets have lost three straight and seven of their last nine on the road and are 11-11 away from home this season.
San Antonio defeated the Hornets earlier in the season and has won three straight and five of the last six meetings. New Orleans has also lost three of its last four in San Antonio.
