(Basketball News) - The Portland Trail Blazers play the third of a four-game road trip on Monday, as they visit the expansion Bobcats at Charlotte Coliseum. This will be the second and final meeting of the season between the clubs. On February 4th, the Trail Blazers knocked off Charlotte, 101-89, at the Rose Garden.
Portland, which is 0-2 on its current swing, has lost three straight games overall. The Blazers will visit the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday at Conseco Fieldhouse in their final game on the road trip as well as their last contest before the All-Star break.
On Sunday, Yao Ming scored 23 points and Juwan Howard added 17 with 11 rebounds to lead the Houston Rockets past Portland, 81-80, at the Toyota Center. Damon Stoudamire scored 25 points to lead the Trail Blazers, who have lost 11 of their last 16 overall. Joel Przybilla finished with 14 points and 11 boards in the loss.
The Blazers are just 7-19 on the road this season. Portland, which is 11-23 when it scores under 100 points, has lost seven in a row as the visitor.
Stoudamire has scored in double-digits in 20 straight games and has played 40 or minutes in 12 of his last 15 contests. The 31-year-old guard is averaging 15.8 points and a team-high 5.5 assists per game this season.
Forward Zach Randolph leads the Blazers in scoring (18.9 ppg) and rebounding (9.7 rpg). He scored just seven points and grabbed seven boards in 29 minutes of action in the loss to Houston. The Michigan State product, who has missed seven games this season because of injury, has registered 21 double-doubles in the 2004-05 campaign.
Portland will not have a representative in this year’s All-Star Game.
