(Basketball News) - The Portland Trail Blazers found themselves on the wrong end of a 117-98 decision on Sunday, as Amare Stoudemire ripped off 50 points to pace the Phoenix Suns to the victory.
The Blazers were paced by Darius Miles’ 25 points. Zach Randolph added 22 points and 14 rebounds and Shareef Abdur-Rahim had 14 points and 10 caroms for the Blazers, losers in three of their last four.
It was Randolph’s 16th double-double. In his last six games against Phoenix, he is averaging 23.3 points and 13.0 rebounds
A Ruben Patterson hoop 10 seconds into the fourth quarter pulled the Blazers within 83-81. But Stoudemire ripped off nine points during a 12-2 run that made it 95-83 with 6:36 left. The Blazers would not get the deficit to single digits the rest of the way.
Portland returns to action on Wednesday against the LA Clippers.
