Report: Hawks, Pacers to swap Jackson, Harrington 07.11.2004

The Indianapolis Star reported the deal, which includes Jackson inking a six- year, $44 million contract with Atlanta before he is traded to the Pacers.
"We’re close, and hopefully it will be done soon," Jackson told the paper in a phone interview. "I’m hoping it works out."
The Pacers are remaining silent about any possible trade, other than to say the team has been involved in discussions. The NBA’s signing period doesn’t begin until next week, so any official deal would have to wait until then.
The 26-year-old Jackson had a career year last season, his first with the Hawks. He averaged 18.1 points and 4.6 rebounds after posting averages of 11.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in his second season with San Antonio in 2002-03.
Harrington has spent all six of his NBA seasons with the Pacers, posting 10.1 points and 5.3 rebounds over 354 games. He averaged career-highs of 13.3 points and 6.4 boards last season, finishing second to Dallas forward Antawn Jamison in the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year voting.
