Sacramento Kings Team Report - November 14 11.14.2003

(Basketball News) - Sacramento fell to 4-4 on the young season on Thursday, as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Kings 112-110 in overtime at the Rose Garden.
Peja Stojakovic poured in 27 points and Mike Bibby netted 26 for the Kings, who have dropped three of their last four. Bibby dished out 15 assists and Bobby Jackson added 16 points off the bench as Sacramento fell to 1-4 on the road this season.
The Trail Blazers grabbed their first lead of the contest when Jeff McInnis opened the extra session with a basket, giving his team a 107-105 lead.
Stojakovic then tied the game with a jumper before Portland immediately went back ahead on a Damon Stoudamire reverse lay-up. Rasheed Wallace’s dunk with just under three minutes to play in the overtime period then gave the Trail Blazers a 111-107 advantage.
Bibby’s three-pointer cut the margin to one, but neither team was able to score on their next several possessions. Still trailing by one, Bibby had his potential game-wining shot rejected by Zach Randolph with just six seconds left. Wallace then hit 1-of-2 from the line and Bibby’s last-second attempt to tie the contest was off line, securing the improbable victory for Portland.
The Kings host Vince Carter and the Toronto Raptors tonight at ARCO Arena.
