(Basketball News) - The San Antonio Spurs welcome the Houston Rockets on Wednesday to the SBC Center. Houston is 2-0 against San Antonio this season, after losing the previous seven meetings between the teams.
The Spurs, who have won 15 consecutive home games, will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday. The Spurs are 0-1 against the Grizzlies this season, as Memphis defeated San Antonio, 93-90, on February 22nd at FedExForum. San Antonio’s last loss at home was on December 8th to the Seattle SuperSonics.
San Antonio has won seven of its last nine games overall and will play its first tilt back from the All-Star break. The Spurs lead the NBA with a 41-12 record, but are only 1/2 game ahead of the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference standings.
Last Wednesday, Tim Duncan had 19 points and Manu Ginobili tallied 13 points and a season-high 10 assists to lead the Spurs to 101-78 win over the New Orleans Hornets.
Rasho Nesterovic, Tony Parker and Malik Rose added 12 points apiece for the Spurs, who won for the second time in three outings. Rose also had 15 boards for San Antonio, which outrebounded the Hornets 30-13 in the second half and held New Orleans to a season-low five offensive boards in the game.
Duncan leads the Spurs in scoring (21.1 ppg) and rebounding (11.6 rpg), while Parker is averaging a team-best 6.2 assists per game.
Ginobili has scored in double-digits in 13 straight games. He is averaging 17.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists in his last 10 contests. The 27- year-old All-Star is third on the team in scoring at 15.9 points per game.
