=== San Antonio Spurs Team Report - January 28 ===

(Basketball News) - Tim Duncan scored a game-high 30 points and hauled down 19 rebounds, as the San Antonio Spurs beat the New York Knicks 77-67 in an low-scoring affair at Madison Square Garden.

Manu Ginobili added 14 points and Tony Parker netted 10 for the Spurs, who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Charlie Ward, making his first appearance in New York since being traded to Phoenix in the Stephon Marbury deal, had only three points in 18 minutes against his former team in the triumph. Ginobili added seven rebounds, while dishing out six assists for the victors.

Ward, who signed with the Spurs after being released from the Suns, spent the first nine years of his career in New York.

Heading into the final stanza the Spurs held a 55-49 margin.

San Antonio traded baskets with New York for most of the stanza and held a six-point lead at 71-65 with under three minutes left to play. Parker then drained a clutch jumper to push the lead to 73-65.

New York turned the ball over on its ensuing possession and Duncan followed with a bank shot with one minute to play, virtually sealing the win.

On the injury front forward Hedo Turkoglu missed his second game with a sore thigh. However, the team he is hoping he can play through his pain on Thursday when the Spurs welcome the Sacramento Kings to the SBC Center.
