Sixers conclude homestand vs. Memphis

On Wednesday, the Sixers failed to make up ground in the Atlantic, as they found themselves on the wrong end of a 101-90 decision to the division-leading New Jersey Nets, who lead Philadelphia by four games.

Allen Iverson led the Sixers with 36 points and dished out nine assists while Chris Webber chipped in 15 points and eight rebounds for the Sixers, who have lost three of their last four.

Andre Iguodala added 11 points, while reserve forward Michael Bradley grabbed a team-high 10 boards in the loss.

Iverson left the game late in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. His status for tonight is not certain, though he has yet to miss a game all season despite being banged up.

Philadelphia, which will head to Minnesota on Sunday, is 12-7 in its arena this season.

Memphis, meanwhile, comes in riding a three-game losing streak after dropping an 87-79 decision to the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets on Wednesday at the Ford Center.

Mike Miller paced the Grizzlies with 21 points, while Bobby Jackson and Shane Battier added 13 apiece in the loss.

To make matters worse center Lorenzen Wright was forced to miss the game with a bruised left knee. He is questionable for tonight’s affair.

Memphis, which will close a four-game road trip with stops in Washington and Miami, is 10-8 away from home this season.

The Grizzlies split their two matchups with the Sixers last season and has won three of four and five of the last eight matchups. However, they are just 2-7 all-time in the City of Brotherly Love.
