|
Wallace hit 17-of-22 shots from the floor for the Bobcats, who ended a three- game losing streak by scoring a franchise-high in points. Raymond Felton added 28 points, hitting a clutch three-pointer down the stretch, and dished out 10 assists for Charlotte, which won for just the second time in nine games.
Joe Johnson had 35 points to lead the Hawks, who have lost five in a row. Josh Smith added 20 points, 14 boards and eight assists for Atlanta, which has lost nine of 10 and 11 of 13 overall.
After Atlanta took a 107-106 lead on a Smith bucket with 6 1/2 minutes left in regulation, Wallace gave the Bobcats the lead for good on Charlotte’s next trip down floor when he put home an alley-oop pass from Felton. He then added two more points to extend the lead to 110-107 with 5 1/2 minutes to play.
Later, after Smith hit a pair of free throws with under 1 1/2 minutes to go, Felton put the game out of reach when he drained a three-pointer with 31 seconds on the clock for a 122-117 advantage.
Brevin Knight ended with 14 points and 12 assists for Charlotte, which led 35- 31 after one quarter and 65-60 at halftime.
Al Harrington and Josh Childress each ended with 16 points for the Hawks, who rallied in the third quarter to go into the fourth tied 93-93.
