(Basketball News) - Gilbert Arenas had his return to the Bay Area spoiled on Friday, as the Washington Wizards fell for the third time in four tries with a 99-78 setback to Golden State Warriors at The Arena.
Etan Thomas led the way with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Larry Hughes had 12 for the Wizards, losers in 10 of their last 13.
Arenas, who heard a chorus of boos early on, had a disappointing outing in his first game back at his old stomping grounds, recording just 11 points on 3- of-10 shooting.
On the injury front backup point guard Steve Blake, who sprained his left thumb in the Wizards’ win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday and rookie Jarvis Hayes (sprained left hamstring) both missed the game.

The Wizards stunned the Kings just over two weeks ago, but has lost nine of the last 11 matchups in the series. Washington has also dropped five in a row in Sacramento.
