Wizards to host LeBron and Cavs

11.19.2003

Washington, DC (Basketball News) - LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers attempt to win their third straight contest tonight when they land in Washington to take on Gilbert Arenas and the Wizards in an Eastern Conference matchup.

Ricky Davis poured in 27 points and Chris Mihm added a career-high 21, as Cleveland defeated the Los Angeles Clippers, 103-95, at Gund Arena on Tuesday.

James contributed 14 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in the win for the Cavaliers. Darius Miles and Zydrunas Ilgauskas each chipped in 13 points against the Clippers.

Cleveland has not won a road game since January 12th at Seattle, a span of 27 contests in a row.

The Cavaliers, who are trying to win three straight for the first time this season, are 0-6 on the road this year.

Larry Hughes turned in a solid performance with 26 points, nine rebounds, three assists and five steals, as the Wizards rolled to a 106-97 victory over Atlanta on Monday at Philips Arena.

Arenas added 23 points, while Etan Thomas and Jarvis Hayes scored 14 apiece for the Wizards, who snapped a four-game slide. Thomas added a team-high 11 rebounds in the win, including five on the offensive boards.

Washington forward Christian Laettner is questionable for tonight’s game with a sore back.

The Wizards are 2-3 at home this season.

Cleveland defeated the Wizards earlier this season, winning 111-98 at Gund Arena on November 8. With the victory the Cavs snapped a six game losing streak against Washington.

Overall, Washington has won eight of the last 11 contests. The Wizards have won three straight as the host against the Cavs.
