Nets acquire Moore from Sonics

07.27.2006

East Rutherford, NJ (Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets have acquired center Mikki Moore from the Seattle SuperSonics for a 2009 second-round draft pick.

The 30-year-old Moore averaged 3.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 47 games for Seattle during the 2005-06 campaign. He will be entering his eighth NBA season and has already played for seven teams (Detroit, Boston, Atlanta, New Jersey, Utah, Los Angeles Clippers and Seattle) during his career.

"We are pleased to add Mikki to our roster," said Nets president Rod Thorn in a release. "He is a veteran presence who will add depth to our frontcourt rotation."

Moore has played in 303 games and has career averages of 4.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest. The seven-foot Nebraska product appeared in four games for the Nets during the 2003-04 campaign.
