This is the second meeting of the campaign between the squads. On January 20th, All-Star Vince Carter poured in a game-high 27 points and pulled down five rebounds as New Jersey put forth a dominating second half en route to a 101-94 win over Orlando at Continental Airlines Arena.
New Jersey has won four straight and five of the last six contests in the series. The Nets have captured two in a row and four of their last five at Orlando.
The Nets attempt to bounce back after an embarrassing loss at home. On Wednesday, Richard Hamilton shot 8-of-13 from the floor for 24 points as the Detroit Pistons routed the Nets, 113-89, at Continental Airlines Arena.
Mikki Moore poured in 20 points and pulled down five rebounds, while Jason Kidd scored 15 in the loss to Detroit for the Nets, who had a two-game winning streak halted. Carter was just 4-of-15 from the field for 11 points.
New Jersey is 9-13 on the road this season.
Orlando, which plays the middle contest of a three-game homestand, tries to make it two wins in a row this evening. Hedo Turkoglu led a balanced Orlando attack with 17 points as the Magic crushed the Milwaukee Bucks, 98-73, on Wednesday at Amway Arena.
Tony Battie scored a season-high 15 points and pulled down six rebounds in the win over Milwaukee for the Magic, who snapped a three-game losing skid. Keith Bogans poured in 14 points and dished out seven assists, while Darko Milicic recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards in the victory.
The Magic are 15-9 at home this season. They will host the New York Knicks on Friday.
