Nets’ McInnis out with knee injury

01.16.2006

East Rutherford, NJ (Basketball News) - The New Jersey Nets announced Monday that guard Jeff McInnis has torn cartilage in his left knee.

McInnis had an MRI on Sunday that revealed the extent of the injury, which occurred during New Jersey’s 110-77 loss to Dallas on Saturday.

The North Carolina product was signed by the Nets during the offseason and has appeared in 28 games so far this season. He is averaging just 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game with only one start.

The 6-foot-4, 179-pound McInnis is averaging 10.3 points and 4.5 assists in 484 career games with Denver, Washington, the Los Angeles Clippers, Portland, Cleveland and New Jersey.
